Mission Statement
The Oakley PTO unites families and educators with the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We advocate and fundraise for the resources our school needs, support teachers and staff, encourage creative learning, and foster a sense of belonging and school pride through meaningful engagement within our diverse school community.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, September-June, from 5:15-6:30 in the Media Center at Oakley Elementary School. Please enter at the south end of the school through the back door to the media center near the parking lot entrance and playground. Meetings are mixed in-person and virtual. If you'd like the virtual link, please subscribe to get on the list.
Past meeting minutes are available on Google Drive.
The Oakley PTO

• provides Creative Learning Grants for faculty and staff to apply for on a rolling basis
• brings in food and other items for the teachers on every day of Teacher Appreciation Week
• organizes a Winter Holiday Shop that allows each student to shop for small items for family and friends for free
• identifies a class parent for each classroom teacher to communicate and organize around needs
You can see an up-to-date list of all PTO volunteer opportunities and sign-up for them by going to bit.ly/OakleyPTOVolunteer.
Email volunteer@oakleypto.org if you have any questions.
The school itself also has volunteer needs that will be communicated through the family newsletter.
To volunteer in the school in a capacity that interacts directly with students, adults must pass a background check. See the school website for the most up-to-date information.
If you go through the process and print out your volunteer badge from the Secure Volunteer app, the PTO will provide a lanyard for you. Just ask at the front office of the school!
